Network Setting

The DVR software can be accessed from a Local Area Network or remotely over the Internet. Any PC on the same local network as the DVR can playback recorded video or live video footage*. However, the DVR software must be configured properly first.

Click the Config button on the main DVR screen, then click the Network  tab:

1) To enable network viewing, set Enable network to the checked state

2) Change the Http Server Port to 9009 (default is 80)

3) If the DVR is connected to a router***, ports 9000, 9001, 9002, and 9009 must be forwarded to the private IP address of the DVR. Type of forwarding is TCP. If you're not familiar with HOW to forward ports on your router, refer to the owner's manual of the router, or contact the manufacturer of the router. EDIGITALDEALS TECH SUPPORT CANNOT ASSIST YOU WITH PORT FORWARDING!

4) To access the DVR from a remote location, launch Internet Explorer (on the remote computer). Make sure ALL Activex Controls are enabled (Tools: Internet Options: Security: Custom Level: ActiveX controls and plug-ins) For more info, go here. Then, in the Internet Explorer address bar, type the PUBLIC IP ADDRESS* of the DVR that you're trying to connect to, followed by a colon, and the number 9009 (example: http://75.13.122.238:9009). You'll be prompted to enter your username and password. Enter them, and you'll gain access to the DVR.

To access the DVR from within your Local Area Network, launch Internet Explorer and type the PRIVATE IP ADDRESS of the DVR you're trying to connect to. This address can be obtained by going to the Start button (on the DVR), and selecting "Run." Type "CMD." Click the "OK" button. Type "ipconfig" then the "Enter" button on your keyboard. You should see several numbers, one of which will be called "IP Address." This is the number that you'll need to enter after launching Internet Explorer on a computer connected to the same network as the DVR. You'll be prompted for a username and password before you're allowed access.

*Public IP address of the DVR Server can be obtained by going to http://www.whatsmyip.org/ on the DVR Server.

***Note: Use of a router is only required when accessing the DVR on a network.
